What you get
- Microsoft Teams Phone Standard (formerly Microsoft 365 Phone System): cloud call management in Teams — make, receive and transfer calls — replacing a traditional phone system, at Microsoft's academic faculty pricing tier.
Before you buy
Academic pricing requires that the purchasing organization's Microsoft tenant carry verified Education eligibility, confirmed through Microsoft's own eligibility review. Each user must already hold a Teams-enabled license (a Microsoft 365/Office 365 suite with Teams, or Teams Enterprise/Essentials). PSTN calling needs a phone number and connectivity — a Calling Plan, Operator Connect or Direct Routing — which is not included.
