What you get

• A per-user license for premium regulatory templates in Microsoft Purview Compliance Manager, on top of the Microsoft Data Protection Baseline template that's included at all subscription levels for free.
• Per Microsoft's own Purview documentation, when you purchase a license for a premium regulatory template you can create as many assessments for that regulation as you want, and the license stays active for one year, auto-renewing unless canceled. Premium templates cover global, regional, and industry regulations (e.g. GDPR, ISO 27001, NIST 800-53), plus four Premium AI regulation templates (EU AI Act, ISO/IEC 23894:2023, ISO/IEC 42001:2023, NIST AI RMF 1.0).

Before you buy

Depending on your licensing agreement, their organization may already be entitled to use up to three premium regulatory templates for free — confirm current entitlement before you buy additional add-on licenses, since Compliance Manager tracks active vs. purchased template usage per tenant.
