What you get

• A per-user license for premium regulatory templates in Microsoft Purview Compliance Manager, on top of the Microsoft Data Protection Baseline template that's included at all subscription levels for free — at Microsoft's academic pricing tier.
• Per Microsoft's own Purview documentation, when you purchase a license for a premium regulatory template you can create as many assessments for that regulation as you want, and the license stays active for one year, auto-renewing unless canceled. Premium templates cover global, regional, and industry regulations (e.g. GDPR, ISO 27001, NIST 800-53), plus four Premium AI regulation templates (EU AI Act, ISO/IEC 23894:2023, ISO/IEC 42001:2023, NIST AI RMF 1.0).

Before you buy

Academic pricing requires that the purchasing organization's Microsoft tenant carry verified Education eligibility, confirmed through Microsoft's own eligibility review. Depending on your licensing agreement, their organization may already be entitled to use up to three premium regulatory templates for free — confirm current entitlement before you buy additional add-on licenses.
